Writing day

I worked on a paper for my Harvard class all day and then went to The Thirsty Scholar with J. It was intimidating because I’m scared of going to Harvard and looking dumb and then I’d not only feel dumb, but be fulfilling some evangelical stereotype. But I wrote the paper and its too long…though practicing shortening things to 111 words everyday for the last 2 weeks, actually made me tighten up the paper more easily. Good practice! Speaking of, you may have noticed, I upped the word count to 115 just cause I felt like it and I’ve been writing for 2 weeks. Though this post is only 110.

I was thinking they were getting much longer. That four words really puts you over the edge. Ha. But really, I think the word limit is a cool idea. It's almost like Haiku. Kind of.

yeah, the word limit thing can sorta be a pain sometime because it takes longer for me to write shorter (rather than longer)...Mark Twain said, "sorry I wrote such a long letter, I didn't have time to write a shorter one." But it is really helpful because it forces me to sum up, to not pontificate (too much), and to distill in my mind the most important parts of the day. plus, it helps me write tighter for my classes...it makes me way better at editing out length quickly. But i'll probably end up adding words as I go if i keep up blogging because i'm lazy. Thanks for all the comments!! It makes my day.
